Βig river is a photographic route taking place in a village that belongs to the province of Mylopotamos called Aimonas. Mylopotamos lies in the north-eastern part of the county of Rethymno, Crete. It was named after the watermills which used the flowing water of a big river, streaming from the eastern to the western part of the region. During the Venetian era, the province of Mylopotamos used to be called Βig river.
